Accessibility

Inclusive travel across Iceland — and how to ask us for what you need.

Our commitment

Sterna Travel is committed to making Iceland's landscapes accessible to every traveller. We work with our partners and guides to accommodate mobility, sensory, and family-travel needs across our scheduled tours. If something on this page doesn't quite cover your situation, contact us — we'll find a way to help.

Wheelchair-capable coaches

Wheelchair-accessible coaches with hydraulic lifts are available on request. Because these vehicles are limited in number, please request accessibility support at least 7 days before your tour date so we can confirm a suitable coach for your departure.

Visual and hearing impairments

Guides can provide a quieter pre-tour briefing on request, and large-print itineraries are available on 48 hours' notice. For travellers with hearing impairments we can supply written materials covering the day's stops, and quieter front-row seating where possible. Sign-language guides can sometimes be arranged for private tours — ask us.

Children, child seats, and strollers

Child seats are available per booking on most tours at no extra cost — request the child's age and weight at booking so we can fit the right seat. Strollers and prams can be stowed in the coach's luggage hold; collapsible models are easiest to handle.

How to request accessibility support

Email accessibility@sternatravel.com or call +354 480-1200 with your booking reference and a short note about what you need. Where possible, give us 7 days' notice for wheelchair coaches and 48 hours for large-print or other written materials.

Currently accessible tours

The following tours can currently be operated with a wheelchair-capable coach on request: Golden Circle Classic, South Coast Highlights, and Reykjavík City & Coast. We are expanding this list — ask us if your preferred tour isn't shown.

Request accessibility support: accessibility@sternatravel.com / +354 480-1200.
