DAY 2: AKUREYRI AND SURROUNDINGS |
We recommend that you plan this day ahead if you want to take one of many day tours operated from Akureyri in the morning. You can choose to explore what the town of Akureyri has to offer by foot or you can choose between varieties of guided and non guided day tours. For example: Take a tour of the Eyjafjörður area, go whale watching in Húsavík or in Dalvík, take a guided day tour to Lake Mývatn or go caving in Lofthellir ice cave with Saga travel (we recommend waterproof clothing). You can stay for more than one day in Akureyri to explore the surroundings. Just make sure to let us know when you are heading to Hvammstangi for Seal watching and Vatnsnes peninsula so we can make reservations in time. |

DAY 3: SEAL WATCHING TOUR AND GO BACK TO REYKJAVIK |

Take the morning Sterna scheduled bus towards Reykjavík at 8:30 am. You jump off in the small northern village of Hvammstangi, a place known for huge seal colonies close by. After the boat trip you enter the Icelandic Seal Center where you can learn more about these fabulous creatures of the sea.
